Protecting the Land

Ketiara is a thriving collective of over 1,500 smallholder farmers—~70% of them women—located in the Gayo Highlands of Sumatra. Founded to empower women and protect the region’s local ecosystem, the co-op is a leader in regenerative, shade-grown farming and gender equity in coffee.

Since our partnership began in 2014, the co-op has tripled in membership and yield—proof of what’s possible when community, the environment, and quality grow together and the strength of a coffee bean.
